Hoge Runs…and Eats!

Just another foodie who loves to run!

Shopping Spree! January 2, 2010

I definitely went on a shopping spree this evening…but first, let’s rewind to this morning!

After coming home from my not-so-fun run I showered and had a bowl of Cascadian Farms Organic Honey O’s, Horizon Organic Skim Milk and Raisins.  After this picture I topped the cereal with a banana.

I also had a glass of Naked OJ with Benefiber.  After breakfast Chris and I went to the post office to mail a couple packages (Steph – you’re package’s in the mail!!) and pick up a package that was sent postage due (Marathon Woman, can’t wait to read it).  We then decided to brave Costco to pick up a few things, it wasn’t as bad as we expected but I really wish people would treat shopping carts like cars – drive on the right side, major aisles get the right-of-way, etc!  Wouldn’t that make shopping less hectic?? 😉

At Costco we got:

  • Celery Sticks
  • Broccoli Florets (a HUGE bag…nom, nom, nom)
  • Personal Pan Cheese & Pepperoni Pizzas
  • Bananas
  • Honey Maid Graham Crackers
  • Rudy’s Organic Honey Sweat Wheat Bread
  • A giant bag of BBQ Pop Chips
  • An organic bagged Ceasar salad kit

We hauled all our goodies home and made a quick lunch of personal pan pizzas (Chris had pepperoni, I had cheese) and a handful of Pop Chips.  I realized that a serving of Pop Chips (120 calories) is 20 chips!  That’s a lot of chips considering these are so airy and filling…interesting!  We always feel like we eat a ton at a time, but realized today we only eat about 10 before we get full of chips…good to know!

After lunch I had a small handful of Skittles – Chris is a good husband and ate all the icky purples.

We have a great arrangement in our marriage where Chris eats the purple skittles and the green Sour Patch Kids.  Is there a color of candy that you dislike? Do you and your significant other fight over the good flavors??

After lunch I took a short nap but kept waking up with my tingly cough, bleh!  I feel much better today but the cough and congestion are still kicking my butt.  And, on top of the cold, I got a cold sore!  I have been loading my lip up with Campho Phenique all day yesterday and today and it’s drying up already.  Do you get cold sores/canker sores?  They’re the pits!

All throughout the day I sprinkled in some cuddle time with our niece, Braeleigh, who was staying with her grandparents while her parents worked today.  She is getting such a cute personality and loves to blow raspberries and smile.

Late this afternoon I ran over to the Boulder Running Company and Lululemon to cash in some gift cards – check out my loot!

I ended up purchasing a pair of Asics running pants at the BRC – they’re a super soft fleece-y feeling material and have a zipper up the calf and great zippered pockets.  At Lululemon I got a new yoga mat that is much thicker and comfier than my old one – it’s black on one side and blue on the other.  I got a matching blue yoga block and a green stretching belt (that doubles as a carrier, still have to figure out that part).  I also got a giant bottle of mat cleaner – the bottle says you can even use it to spray down your elliptical/treadmill after a workout!  Definitely going to put that to use when we buy a house and I set up my gym!  The spray has a really yummy mint smell 🙂

Dinner was a surprise trip to Chick-Fil-A and I didn’t get a picture but had an 8-piece chicken nugget meal with waffle fries and a small fruit punch 😀  The rest of the evening was spent loving on our niece, playing Wii and chatting.

Now we’re winding down for the evening and I need to hit the water – hard, I’m so thirsty all of a sudden!  I also hear a Bryer’s all natural fruit popsicle calling my name 😉

I hope you had a wonderful 2nd day of 2010 and I hope you have a very wonderful Sunday tomorrow!

Purple skittles ARE disgusting. . . however, I’m not a huge fan of them anyway. I’ll only eat the red ones when so inclined. =)
